alternate endings originally premiered in February 2026 at Windmill Arts as an evening-length work. 

alternate endings taps into non-linear storytelling, kaleidoscopic characters, and explores themes of ascent, descent, and fate. Aligned with its namesake, this creation was originally performed in two distinct orders — encouraging the audience to consider how reorientation of the same material can impact what lingers. 

In reshaping this new iteration, which Jacqui considers its own container — a relative of the original, but entirely existing on its own — she enjoyed the added layer of working with a double cast (hence, body double) and examining how these characters in their duplication influence the dynamics within this non-linear story. When considering what pieces of the original to bring forward in a new way, Jacqui was interested in identifying core anchors and packing as many of these moments as possible into a shorter format to produce something that despite being a snapshot in length, carries the spirit and potency of the original.

THE EXAMINATION refers to the most ubiquitous experience reported by people who claim to have been abducted by aliens—an extraterrestrial examination procedure. Abductees describe strange medical testing, psychological invasion, and sexual violation that teeters on the line between repulsive and fascinating, abjection and eroticism. This work explores that fine and porous membrane between violation and pleasure.

This work is an excerpt of a larger work that premiered in Austin, Texas, in February 2025. It was developed with many collaborators, including Katherine Vaughn, Celeste Camfield, Aida Hernandez-Reyes, Kanami Nakabayashi, Jairus Carr, Anna Bauer, and Eddie Hale.

This work is an adaptation of Andie's ongoing solo research exploring themes of revival, doubt, and tradition through the embodiment of Renaissance imagery, abstract autobiographical text, and detailed improvisational scores. These elements are woven together as movement vignettes offered to the viewer as embodied parables.

Drawing from over three years of creation, Andie has spent her time with the Artists to further understand the nuances of the movement vocabulary and deepen a shared investigation into Andie's ongoing obsession: the metaphorical, spiritual, and physical relationships between falling and flight.
